Capturing one ton of CO2 traditionally requires between 1.8 and 2.6 MWh of power. For this process to effectively combat climate change, the power source must be renewable. Golu-CO2 modular Carbon Capture and Energy Generators are designed to be deployed where both CO2 capture and energy generation are needed. These generators utilize ethanol to capture atmospheric biogenic CO2 while simultaneously generating energy. Each 40-foot container can capture 10 tons of CO2 per day and generate 25 MWh or 1.1 MW of continuous renewable electricity, operating 24/7.


Ethanol, a concentrated form of renewable energy, achieves the highest efficiency of any current energy system when used within the Golu system.


We are the first company in the world to commercialize thermo-catalytic production of hydrogen from Ethanol. This hydrogen generates efficient electricity via fuel cells, to generate 1MW of continuous power, or 25MWh/day, while capturing 10 Tons of CO2 per day.

Ethanol is one of the first chemical products made by man, as wine and beer. We have optimized and increased efficiencies with low carbon intensity and incorporation of cellulosic waste into the ethanol production process. With the Golu system, the more energy we use, the more CO2 is removed from the atmosphere. When looking at a technical analysis of the system:
