Introduction
Gölu-H is a subsidiary of SBI BioEnergy Inc. After successfully licensing SBI’s Renewable Diesel technology to Royal Dutch Shell, SBI gained global recognition as a world leader in innovative clean energy tech. Now with a proprietary Green Hydrogen production technology, SBI’s gölu-H revolutionizes Hydrogen to be more accessible, renewable, and scalable.
This technology produces Hydrogen for a variety of applications, including electricity production, industrial uses, and on-board for FCEV’s. With Zero NOx and Zero SOx, the only emissions are CO borne from the ethanol itself. This process recycles and purifies the CO , resulting in zero net emissions through this new Hydrogen production process.
Process Description
The gölu-H process consists of the following sections:
Ethanol used to start the process, going through the gölu-H reactor and the proprietary PSA unit developed by SBI to produce 100% Pure Hydrogen in a self-sustaining process requiring no external energy inputs.

Recycle and Purify CO
The process purifies and recycles CO borne in the Ethanol that is supplied. Ethanol is a renewable resource, during the photosynthesis process, the sugar cane, corn, or wheat uses CO from the atmosphere to grow. Gölu’s process later emits pure CO when extracting Hydrogen from Ethanol and water, resulting in net zero CO emissions.
Why not simply burn the Ethanol?
The gölu-H process not only extracts Hydrogen from Ethanol, but also from water (H O). This leads to nearly double the Hydrogen, and subsequently energy, available for either clean burning or converting to electricity- also evident from our following mileage per dollar spent comparison:

The Need
SBI’s technology meets the need for an accessible clean fuel, Hydrogen. The current global demand for Hydrogen is 70 MMT, with 95% of this demand met with SMR technology- emitting 830 MMT CO annually. With current advances in fuel cell technologies, vehicles, and turbines, coupled with the need to lower dependence on fossil fuels, the demand for Hydrogen is projected to continue growing.
Gölu reduces the carbon intensity of Hydrogen production by 90%. Recycling CO , results in Net Zero Carbon Emissions converting a readily available renewable resource, Ethanol to Green Hydrogen.

Global Hydrogen Adoption
SBI’s technology solves many barriers to widespread Hydrogen adoption:
Production Cost, Safety, Distribution, and Carbon Intensity.
Cost
-
Current Hydrogen fueling stations are charging USD $16.50/kg. Most of these costs are a result of compression, storage, and distribution
-
Ethanol is a low-cost fuel readily available globally
-
Gölu’s process is scalable, producing Hydrogen when and where it is needed
Safety
-
Hydrogen is notoriously explosive, requiring special equipment and compressors to safely and effectively store it
-
Gölu technology uses Ethanol and water as Hydrogen sources, easily stored at ambient temperatures in tanks
Distribution
-
With its small molecule size and high reactivity, existing pipelines cannot safely run Hydrogen in concentrations greater than 15%
-
Fuel carriers need upgrades to carry high-pressure Hydrogen, with the safety compromise of carrying a bomb
-
Ethanol is distributed using existing liquid fuel networks worldwide
Carbon Intensity
-
With 830 MMT of associated Carbon Dioxide emissions annually, current Hydrogen production methods are ineffective in realizing Hydrogen’s carbon reduction benefits
-
The gölu process recycles and purifies Carbon Dioxide, resulting in a net-zero solution to Hydrogen production
